Though we love Lettuce Grow, we decided to have our own separate herb garden because well … I go through a lot of herbs in a week. As an avid lover of Italian food, I subject my husband to a once a week pasta dish. Basil, Oregano, Rosemary and Thyme are used routinely in our house.
We ordered the Garlic Chives, Basils, Parsley, Oregano, Thyme, and Cilantro from Lettuce Grow. The Rosemary and Dill, I got from Home Depot. We decided to put these in their own pots with soil. The taller pots are actually strawberry planters. We “repurposed” them for our little herb garden. We like the strawberry planters as you can do seven plants in each one. We put rosemary at the top of one of the strawberry planters, since it likes to take over any space it is placed in. In the other planter, we put basil at the top since the basil plant we bought had several stocks.
We are also planning to do a cantaloupe in another large pot and a flower garden. We ordered through Amazon a bunch a little terra cotta pots. We decided to go “whole hog” and paint them. Our daughter even got in on the fun and helped pick out flowers and colors for the pots.
