Customizable Protein Smoothies

Note: This recipe makes four to five, ten ounce smoothies. I put these in mason jars and then freeze them. In the morning, I just have to grab one and by the time I’m ready to eat Breakfast, I have a nutritious filling smoothie at my fingertips!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups of Frozen Organic Mixed Berries (Or any other fruit- See Addition Note at the bottom)
  • 2 Cups of Non-Dairy Milk (We like Unsweetened Original Almond Milk)
  • 1 Handful of Greens (Spinach, Kale, Sprouts, Anything you have on hand)
  • 1 Banana (Raw- but if you want to freeze it you might need a smidge more milk in the shake)
  • 2 Scoops of Vanilla Protein Powder (We use Ka’chava- it has ALL the good things!)
  • 1 TBL of Ground Flaxseeds
  • 1 TBL of Ground Chia Seeds

Directions:

  1. Add all to a blender (We love the Ninja Brand- it can take on anything!) and whip it up!
  2. You might need to add a little bit more milk or a little less, just eyeball it!

Additions/Substitutions:

  • Feel free to play with the fruit- pineapples, mangoes, and peaches are a great substitute to make a tropical smoothie mix. We also like to put in TWO bananas and use frozen strawberries instead of mixed berries for a strawberry banana smoothie (my 11 year-old LOVES them). If you don’t have frozen fruits on hand, you can totally use fresh, you’ll just need to add 1 cup of ice to the mix.
